In the current situation we all find ourselves we feel it may be helpful if we share some of the measures that have been put in place to date.
As a family business health and safety is paramount as is being able to stay operational and take care of families depending on us. With measures as guided by SAIF our trade association and as the government guidelines which are ever changing we are making some changes yet trying to be as helpful, open and honest at the same time.
At present we are asking that anyone only come into the office if your need cannot be met by a telephone call and if in advance of any visit you call us and preferably two/three family members visit at any one time. This is to ensure that we ourselves are not at risk to pass anything onto our own family or to other families that may have some members that may also be vulnerable if they were to develop COVID-19.
We are therefore offering to make funeral arrangements with us over the telephone/Facetime, however we are aware this isn’t how some families want to arrange their loved ones funeral and ask you to please understand that more information will be taken from the initial telephone conversation than how we would usually conduct ourselves, this is to lessen the time spent in the office.
The details we are following have been issued by clergy, churches and crematoria and we have to fully adhere to their guidelines and hope that families do understand this is for everyones safety. Churches are no longer offering a funeral service to take place in church it has to be either a graveside service (with immediate family only) the option of a memorial service is available at a later date once it is safe to do so or a service at the crematorium again the number of mourners to attend the crematorium is minimal.
We are of the understanding that at some point this week a decision will be made in parliament regarding the death certification process and we will keep all families up to date as and when these decisions have been made.
Should anyone have anything they are unsure of please do not hesitate to make contact, our services are offered 24 hours.
May we take this opportunity to wish everyone well and thank you for your understanding…. Keep safe!!!!
