As an independent funeral director, we can offer families the additional option of paying their respects to loved ones at our Chapel of rest. We have found this to prove very popular as this isn’t an option with other direct cremation services you may see elsewhere advertised on TV or magazines etc.
What is an Attended Direct Cremation?
An Attended Direct cremation is a simple yet dignified alternative to traditional funeral services. It involves the prompt and respectful cremation of the deceased without the need for an elaborate ceremony. This approach allows families to focus on their personal grief and healing while still ensuring their loved one’s wishes are fulfilled. Up to 20 mourners can attend.
The cremation will take place at Howe Bridge Crematorium.
There are two options available;
- A maximum 10 minute service limited to a maximum of 8 mourners. There is no formal service, the 10 minutes provides time for quiet reflection with music of your choice to be played. This service is limited to 9:00am and 9:15am times only, Monday to Thursday. £1825
- A maximum 20 minute service limited to a maximum of 20 mourners. There is no formal service however family members are able to lead a small ceremony if they wish with music to be played of your choice. This service is limited to 8:30am, 9:00am and 9:30am times only, Monday to Thursday. £1925
Our Attended Direct Cremation service includes the following:
- Meet with you in our premises or make the arrangements via telephone/email.
- Conveyance of the deceased to our funeral home during normal working hours (out of hours would incur an additional charge)
- Care of the deceased at our chapel of rest.
- Provide a basic coffin
- Transport your loved one to the crematorium in our Hearse.
- A choice of the limited times available at the crematorium ranging from 8:30am-9:30am.
- Choice to either meet us at the crematorium or to leave from a home address.
- The cremated remains can be returned to you in eco box within 14 days
- Crematorium fees

- Viewing of loved one at our chapel of rest
- Bearers provided by ourselves
- Limousines to seat 7 passengers
- Cremation container of your choice
- Arrange a service for the burial of ashes of your choice at a time and place that is more personal to you and your loved one

Please note: The Attended Direct Cremation package cost must be paid in full either by cash, bank transfer (BACS) or cheque, no later than 72 hours before the funeral is due to take place. We need to ask this of our customers to ensure all Disbursements (third party costs) are paid in advance and to ensure we can keep the costs of our funerals as low as possible.
