As an independent funeral director, we can offer families the additional option of paying their respects to loved ones at our Chapel of rest. We have found this to prove very popular as this isn’t an option with other direct cremation services you may see elsewhere advertised on TV or magazines etc.
What is Direct Cremation?
Direct cremation is a simple yet dignified alternative to traditional funeral services. It involves the prompt and respectful cremation of the deceased without the need for a formal viewing or elaborate ceremony. This approach allows families to focus on their personal grief and healing while still ensuring their loved one’s wishes are fulfilled.
The cremation will take place at a local crematorium.
Our Direct Cremation service includes the following:
- Meet with you in our premises or make the arrangements via telephone/email.
- Conveyance of the deceased to our funeral home during normal working hours (out of hours would incur an additional charge)
- Care of the deceased at our chapel of rest.
- Provide a basic coffin
- Transport your loved one to the crematorium at a time arranged by ourselves
- Notification of when the cremation is taking place.
- The cremated remains can be returned to you in eco box within 14 days
- Crematorium fees
The medical form for cremation is not included in our fees, however should it need to be applied where the coroner is not involved, the fee of £82 will be added.
Optional Extras (Charges apply):
- Viewing of loved one at our chapel of rest
- Cremation container of your choice
- Arrange a service for the burial of ashes of your choice at a time and place that is more personal to you and your loved one

Please note: The Direct Cremation package cost must be paid in full either by cash, bank transfer (BACS) or cheque, no later than 72 hours before the funeral is due to take place. We need to ask this of our customers to ensure all Disbursements (third party costs) are paid in advance and to ensure we can keep the costs of our funerals as low as possible.
